Autumn workshop - Saturday 22 September
As we arrive at the Autumn equinox (equal day and night), we move away from the heat and vibrancy of Summer into the darker and cooler energy of Autumn. Plant life is “undressing”, the earth is browning and crispness arrives in the air after the intensity of the warmer months.
Autumn is “Vata” season in Ayurveda (the traditional Indian system of holistic medicine and complimentary to yoga) and Vata is characterised by air and space, with the qualities of being dry, rough, windy, erratic and clear.
In this workshop will look at Autumn and the concept of Vata and how it can relate to our Yoga practice. We will explore mobility and motion - moving with smoothess, intention and fluidity. We will also experiment with grounding postures and balances, and some inversion play, to see if we can find our balance whilst upside down.
Suitable for all levels.
